Howard County Fair: a favorite summer celebration
By Greater Kokomo Visitors Bureau

From carnival rides to farm traditions, there’s something for all.
Carnival rides, adorable animals, live music, and a whole lot more are what’s in store for you at the Howard County Fair in Greentown. The 2026 fair is slated for July 12-18, and it has a little something for everyone to enjoy.
The Midway is the most popular of the fair’s attractions and is home to exciting rides and challenging carnival games. Be sure to take a relaxing ride on the Ferris Wheel to catch a fantastic view of the fair!
Of course, the fair is more than just rides! Check out the livestock barn to meet charming farm animals and experience livestock shows. Want something action-packed? Head to the Northwest Grandstands for tractor-pulls, demolition derbies, and more!
Another popular tradition is the pioneer village, where you can tour old-fashioned buildings, listen to live music, and discover treasures and food from the old days. While you’re in the village, don’t forget to pay the quirky Grandpa Cratchet a visit during his puppet show!
Finally, no trip to the fair would be complete without food! Savor classic fair food such as corn dogs, ice cream, funnel cakes, and cotton candy, or go wild and sample exotic fare such as fried alligator.
