"Americas First Car" was developed in 1894 by Elwood Haynes. The famous inventors former residence now houses a collection of his possessions and inventions. Old Ben, the Worlds Largest Steer, is on display in one of the pavilions in Highland Park. He was 6 1/2 feet tall at the shoulder, 14 feet around and 16 1/4 feet from nose to the tip of his tail. At the time of his death, he weighed over 4,500 pounds. He set a record for his size, which still stands to this day. Open dawn to dusk. Admission is free. |
